Online Arty Crafty 2020

To get the videos from our online version, just pop over to the blog section on my website, it is the green option that says Blog on my home page. There you will find 2 videos each day, Regina’s video and Sheleen’s video. Sheleen’s projects are for younger children up to the age of 9. These children will need help from an adult or older sibling. Regina’s projects are for older children, teenagers and adults too. At times you will need an extra pair of hands to help for these projects. All projects can be done by any age, Sheleen does a circus hat and collar that a teenager may like to do. Regina does a clown wall hanging that a younger child might like to do with a little help. It really doesn’t matter, have a look at the videos first and decide which you would like to do and which your child may be able for. Below, is a timetable for the week and also a list of materials needed again for each item.

Lastly, I would like to wish you all luck with your projects. I would love to see how the projects turn out. It would be amazing if you could email me with a picture of you with your project/projects from the week to glynnregina33@gmail.com. The classes and videos are free in the blog section of this website. Instead, I am raising money for the Irish Hospice foundation, if you would like to donate, I have attached the link here https://www.idonate.ie/fundraiser/11387881_regina-glynn-s-page.html . Anything would be really appreciated.  2 videos will be uploaded each day.  I hope you all enjoy!!

List of Materials for Free Online Arty Crafty Classes 2020

I am so sad to say that we have had to cancel the Arty-Crafty Classes due to the Covid-19 restrictions this Summer BUT all is not lost as my daughter, Sheleen and I, Regina Glynn have decided to make our art classes available to all for free online, on my Arty Crafty web page http://reginaglynn.com/ . It begins on Monday, the 6th of July and will run for that week until Friday, the 10th of July.

There will be various videos in the blog section of my website. You firstly type www.reginaglynn.com into the search bar of your internet browser. When on my web page go to the ‘Blog’ section which is the first green word underneath my logo to see the various videos for each day.

The theme is ‘The Circus’. There will be three or four projects for the two different levels, younger children,  older children and teenagers. All projects can be done by any age, if there are younger children wanting to do the senior projects, they can do so with help from older siblings or parents and the junior projects of course can be attempted by the senior students. The projects being made are really creative, crafty and we are certain you will enjoy doing them. Younger children will need assistance.

Most of the materials you can find at home but there may be a few you might have to buy now that the shops are open. Phillips bookshop, World of Wonder, Recharge+, Euro2, Dealz, YouPrint and local supermarkets are among some of the shops in Mallow where you can buy art materials. I am delighted to announce that the theme for this year is ‘The Circus’ We hope to create clown hats, clown dickey bows/collars, circus themed weaving wall hangings, paintings, hanging mobiles and papier mache 3D clown face.

It promises to be a fun filled week, so don’t  forget to tune in each morning. If you do, I would be so happy to see your beautiful artwork via email at glynnregina33@gmail.com . When sending me a photo, feel free to wear your hats, bows, collars, and dress up as a clown. Looking forward to seeing the amazing work.

Every July is the time when lots of children gather at the Patrician Academy for two weeks of creative and artistic fun, ending with a wonderful exhibition of their work, where all are invited to come and view the exhibits.

The camps start in July!

Camps last ONE week. There are two different weeks to choose from and you can choose to attend morning or afternoon.

Week 1 – 4/7/2022 – 8/7/2022

Week 2 – 11/7/2022 – 15/7/2022

Themes from previous years

Over the past summers many themes have been explored, varying from Witches and Wizards, Dragons and Dinosaurs, Space, and the Jungle. One year the theme was Medieval times where the boys made their own costumes of knights including helmets, swords and shields and the girls created their own ladies in waiting costumes with head dresses and jewelry to match.

Another year the theme was the Circus, where Clown costumes were created and the students constructed clown hats, bows, shoes and masks. They painted murals of fantastic colourful circus scenes, incorporating lions, tigers, elephants, trapeze artists etc.Mexico was another theme and was one of the most successful to date. The students explored the art and culture of the Aztecs, looking in particular at the buildings and the many designs unique to Aztec culture. Images of the gods were sketched and students constructed beautiful masks using plaster of paris, paper mache and then finished them in gold paint. The younger children made sombrero hats and maracas using paper mache and tissue paper. The senior students did lino cutting and printed them on paper, designing carrier bags by dyeing them beautiful colours and printing designs on them.
